The vowels A, E, I, O, U are used and there are no accented vowels. Each vowel has a consistent sound even when used in succession is a single word. For example, in the "hapana" the "a" has an "ah" sound in all three instances. Where vowels are used in succession in a word or sentence, each vowel is pronounced separately. For example the word "Ndeapi" is pronounced "Nde+api" and not "Ndeep".
